How to see everyone on Google Meet on PC

Google Meet Web

Let’s start from how to see everyone in google meet on pc. First, I’ll explain how to take advantage of the function integrated in the web version of Meet that allows you to see the list of those present. Then I’ll show you how to take advantage of a browser extension, thanks to which it is possible to arrange a large part of the video call participants on a grid.

For view the list of those present in a conferencego to the Google Meet main page, log in to your Google account (if you haven’t already), click on the button New meeting and select the item Start an instant meeting. Then give Google Meet access to the microphone and to webcams (if needed) and click the button Participate. Now all you have to do is invite the people of your interest and accept them in the conference: I explained how to do it in my tutorial on how Google Meet works.

If, on the other hand, you have to take part in a conference to which you have been invited, after going to the main Google Meet page, provide to report the code that was provided to you in the appropriate text fieldcorresponding to the “New meeting” button, click on the button Participate and wait to be accepted into the conference. If you have received a invitation linkhowever, you simply have to open it and press the button Participate.

To see all the videoconference participants on Google Meet, now click on the symbol of two little men located in the top menu: by doing so, in the panel that will appear on the right you will be able to see the list of connected users. By selecting the tab Chats, located at the top right, you can also send a message to those who are in the video call. Convenient, right?

If, on the other hand, you intend to arrange the participants on a grid, you must make use of Google Meet Grid View: a browser extension developed for Google Chrome but also compatible with Microsoft Edge And Operafree and very simple to use.

Before explaining how to use it, however, let me specify a couple of things. First, I want to tell you that Google Meet Grid View is software not developed by Google and, therefore, its use could involve potential risks in terms of privacy – in fact it requires access to data from Google Meet – it could also stop working at any moment due to some change by Google.

In short, there are no reasons to doubt the good intentions of the Google Meet Grid View developers, but since it is an unofficial solution it is not possible to trust it blindly. That said, if you decide to use the extension but then stop using it, I recommend that you uninstall it.

Having made this premise, let’s get down to business. To install Google Meet Grid View on Chrome or edgego to this page of the Chrome Web Store and, after logging into your Google account (necessary operation only on Chrome), click on the buttons add And Add extension.

If you use Operahowever, after going to this page of the Chrome Web Store, first click on the green button addthen on the button Okay place in the box that has opened and, finally, on the buttons Install And Yes, install present in the new tab that has opened.

Google Meet Grid View

After installing the extension, start a new meeting on Google Meet or access a conference to which you have been invited (I explained how to do this before), hover the mouse cursor over the square grid at the top right and click on it.

This way, the icon will become one barred square grid and all videocall participants will be arranged on the grid. Easier than that?!

Google Meet mobile

You came to this guide with the aim of finding out how to see everyone on Google Meet on smartphones and tablets? Well, actually there is no function to see the list of participants in the Meet app for Android and iOS/iPadOS.

On mobile, however, the list of participants is always visible at the bottom: after starting a videoconference or taking part in it, in fact, those present are visible at the bottom of the screen and it is possible to scroll through their names to see who they are.

The Google Meet Grid View extension, on the other hand, is only compatible with computer browsers and cannot be used on smartphones or tablets. I am sorry.
