Share your screen with Meet is a feature that, during an online meeting or lesson, allows you to show your computer screen, a specific window or a Chrome tab to the other participants.
Before explaining in detail how to share the screen with Meet from a computer, you should know that it is possible to do it in two different ways.
- Participate: By creating a meeting and choosing the “Join” option, you can switch from webcam to screen sharing (and vice versa) at any time. In addition, this mode allows you to use your microphone and view other participants.
- Presents: By choosing this option, you can share your computer screen without using the microphone. Depending on the source chosen for sharing (eg a single Chrome tab) it is possible to transmit the audio of the tab in question. However, it is not possible to switch from screen sharing to the computer webcam or even view the other participants.
Furthermore, I would like to underline that screen sharing with Google Meet is available on all browsers supported by the service (eg Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.). However, only using Chrome can you choose the sharing source: Chrome tab to share a single browser tab by selecting the one you are interested in; Your screen full screen to share everything on your computer screen or Application window to show a single window of a specific application.
