In the next paragraphs of this guide, in fact, I will be able to explain to you how to start a video conference with Meet using the web version of the service, available for all major web browsers, and from apps for smartphones and tablets. Regardless of the device you decide to use, I guarantee that starting a meeting with Meet is anything but complicated and that you can also start with people who use different devices.

How to start a video conference with Meet on computer
If you want to know how to start a video conference with Meet on computeryou will be pleased to know that you don’t have to download any additional programs on your PC, as the service is usable for different browsers, namely Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari.
To proceed, then, go to the Meet home page, click on the link Log in which is located in the upper right corner and, if you haven’t already done so, sign in to your Google account. Now, click on the button Start a meeting and give Meet permission to access the webcams and al microphone of the computer: fundamental operation to be able to interact with the other participants present in the videoconference.
So click on the button Participate and, on the page that opens, click on the button Copy info for participationso that you can copy the links to share with users you want to invite to the meeting. If you want, you can click the button Add people and send the invitation to the people of your interest via email.
Want to join a video conference you’ve been invited to? To do this, provide the meeting code in the appropriate text field and click on the button Participate placed on the right. Once the conference has started, you can click on the symbol microphone or of the video camera to manage your computer’s microphone and webcam; while clicking on the icon of the red handset you can close or abandon the call.
Ah… I almost forgot! Google Meet can also be reached from Gmail. You can avail it by accessing Gmail from its main page and clicking on the button Start meeting or on the button Join a meeting placed on the left sidebar, under the wording meet. Convenient, right?
How to start a video conference with Meet on smartphones and tablets
If you prefer start a video conference with Meet on smartphones and tabletsyou can use the official app of the service for mobile devices android And iOS/iPadOS. Let me tell you how to use it.
If you want to proceed on androidinstall and start the official Meet app on your device, press the button Continues and grant it all the permissions it needs to function properly, such as those relating to access to the microphone and to camera of the device. Then tap the button Log in and proceed to log in to your Google account (if you don’t see the button in question, it means that you are already logged in).
To create a new conference, then press the button (+) New meeting located on the left of the screen. As you can see, in the box Add others that appeared on the screen is shown the links to be sent to the users you want to join the meeting.
In case you have already closed the box in question, know that you can find the videoconference link by pressing the tab (the) placed on the right. To share the information necessary to participate in the meeting, you can press the button Share placed under the link or copy and paste them “manually” to send them in a chat.
If you have been invited to participate in a video conference on Meet, press the button instead Meeting codetype the code that was provided to you by the videoconference organizer in the appropriate text field and press the button Join the meeting. You just have to wait for the creator of the meeting to accept you in it.
Once the conference has started, you can press the icon microphone or of the video camera (if you don’t see them, tap anywhere on the screen), so you can manage the microphone and camera of the device in use. To abandon close or abandon the call, instead, press the button showing the red handset.
If you want to proceed on iOS/iPadOS you have to follow practically the same steps that I gave you in the chapter on Android. Therefore, install and start the official Meet app on your device (if you haven’t already done so), tap the button Continues and grant it the necessary permissions to make it work properly, such as the inherent ones microphone And camera. Then press the button Log in and log in to your Google account (if you don’t see the button in question, you’re obviously already logged in).

To share your video conference login information, you can press the button Share placed immediately below the link or, if you prefer, “manually” copy and paste the latter.
If you have been invited to participate in a video conference on Meet, press the button instead Meeting codeprovide the code that was provided to you by the videoconference organizer in the appropriate text field, press the button Join the meeting and wait for the meeting creator to accept you into the room.
